Westminster Presbyterian Church

Sanctuary Renovation

Westminster Presbyterian Church has long held a place of pride in Buffalo’s rich history. The church was originally constructed in 1854 and is well known for its stained glass and other elements by Louis Comfort Tiffany. The interior restoration responded to a complex history of prior alterations and a new design binds these elements in one place. As the project general contractor, Lehigh successfully completed the sanctuary renovation in just six months. The work began with the demolition of the majority of the balcony, the entire chancel platform, existing floor coverings and finishes and the protection of the existing stained glass windows. Lehigh was honored with a prestigious National Excellence in Construction Award for historical restoration by the ABC for this 1994 project.
