Babeville "The Church"

Conversion of Asbury Church into Righteous Babe Headquarters, Music Venue, & Contemporary Arts Center

This landmark project in downtown Buffalo, NY involved the complete restoration of the historic Asbury Church into Righteous Babe Records headquarters, “The Church” music venue & a contemporary performing arts center for local artist Ani DiFranco.

Highlights of the exterior work included a new slate roof, re-pointing of all the North Tower, reconstruction of the South Tower and restoration of stained glass. The interior was completely renovated and restored.

Other highlights include a new geothermal heating and cooling system and a new glass stairway addition. Additionally, the entire existing basement was excavated to create more usable space within the building footprint.

Lehigh also constructed a fantastic modern art space and home for Hallwalls Contemporary Art Center.
