St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church

New Sanctuary

This project consisted of the demolition of an existing sanctuary and the construction of a new sanctuary after the existing building had been deemed structurally unsound. Lehigh demolished the original building, but salvaged the art glass windows, altar and pews to be used in the new building. The new building has a footprint of nearly 5,000 sf and blends the salvaged windows, altar, pews and art glass with a new design which creates a reminder of the original sanctuary while creating a more modern, and safe, worship space. A unique aspect of this ecclesiastic construction is that the building is a pre-engineered metal building.
